Top 13 Favorite Movies!!!

So I created a post on Facebook letting YOU decide what my next post would be. “Favorite Movie”s won, So listed below are my TOP 13 FAVORITE MOVIES!!! I’m very much a movie person, so there are a TON that I love. But these take the cake!

 #13 “The Other Boleyn Girl

There is just something about this movie that I really love. I’m just sure if its the history behind it or what but I love this movie. If you haven’t seen this movie ever, Id watch it and see what you think. (I’ve actually watched this back to back before hehe)

#12 “Indiana Jones”

I’m not sure if this is cheating, But I love ALL these movies. This one however I find funny with Sean Connery. I love these movies because of the adventure behind them but also the history. I could watch these movies over and over. These movies really suck you in and make you feel like you are on an adventure with them. And of course give you a few good laughs when you get in tough situations haha. But Indiana Jones ALWAYS gets out of those!!! movie8.jpg

# 11 “Night At The Museum”

I guess I’m going to cheat again because I love ALL of these movies also. I think it’s safe to say I do like movies that cover some history. I love the idea of this movie. Its very unique. Creative. That’s the word I’m thinking of. I just love it and I feel like the world could learn from this movie. In this movie there is all walks of life but they have to come TOGETHER to fight off the evil. The unity. Its something the world needs right now.Other than that, it’s funny. And who doesn’t love Robin Williams?

#10 “The Grinch”

The The The Grinchhhhh!! Sorry I had to. If you’ve seen this movie then you would understand. This is actually a Family favorite of ours. My family will quote this movie year round. Not only does it give a special message, but its so funny! Jim Carrey does such a GREAT job at being the Grinch. They could NEVER remake this movie to be just as good as this one!! And honestly I could probably watch this at any point in the year. Its just that good!

#9 “Hocus Pocus”

This movie has a special place in my heart. It’s another Family favorite. My Grandma and Aunt had this movies recorded on VHS. And every Halloween us girls would “sneak” the movie home to our house. Eventually we realized that our Grandma and Aunt knew we would take it off the shelve. But we would continue to “sneak” it. When we were younger we always talked about making sure OUR children would watch it to keep the tradition going every fall season. Years later and that tradition keeps going. I just can’t wait to share that with my kids when that time comes.

#8 “Robin Hood Men In Tights”

Well, another Family favorite. This movie will NEVER get old. I could watch this over and over if I had to. It’s just so hilarious. I LOVE Mel Brook’s version. I also love that he makes appearances in all of his movies. Watching this movie, I can quote it word for word. If you ever need a GOOD laugh this is one to watch!!  movie4

#7 “Twister”

Anyone who REALLY knows ME, knows this is one of my ALL time favs!!! I could also quote this movie word for word. Interesting fact: When the tornados in the movie was doing its thang, they actually used CAMELS to make the noise. How cool is that?! I always thought that it was really cool. I think its super cool to be a storm chaser. Would I do it? ABSOULELTY!!!  IF I was promised I would be ok!! HAHA. Also, Robin Hood makes a appearance in this movie! 😉  twister

#6  “The Mummy”

Now again, if anyone TRULY knows me, they know I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! I love all of them really, but this one is my fav! I love learning about Ancient Egypt ( I know I know again with the history) But this makes me feel like I’m there. I have read and I own easily 30+ books on Ancient Egypt and I love seeing the Mythology come to play in this movie.

#5 “Inside Out”

So normally it takes ALOT for movies to make me emotional. This one got me. Especially with Bing Bong. With being someone who battles with depression, this movie for ME helped explain what it can be like in my head sometimes. All these emotions running at ONCE and feeling all sorts of things. And I love the message it shares about how you can’t have Joy without Sadness and vise versa.  If you have never seen this, I suggest you go and watch it! Oh and grab a box of tissues!movie5

#4  “Meet The Robinsons”

“Keep moving forward” Is the BEST line out of the whole movie. I saw this movie at a tough time in my life. And yes this one made me cry to. I was at a time in my life where I didn’t feel like I belonged and I was afraid of what the future would hold. I could relate to the main character so well. He didn’t feel like he belong and he felt like his dreams would never come true. He was taught to “Keep moving forward” because you never know what the future will bring and that you never know WHO is placed in your life to help you get through it. movieee

#3 “Down Periscope”

If you haven’t seen this movie, you are MISSING OUT! This movie is HILAROUS. It’s another movie I can quote literally word for word. It’s my Dad’s and I’s favorite movie we always enjoy to watch together. This movie makes me laugh so hard. I remember almost 10 years ago now, I had my appendix removed. I decided to watch this movie to cheer me up. WRONG IDEA! I had to get my mom to turn it off so I wouldn’t pop any stiches or staples. Its just super funny. Go watch it!

#2 “Coco”

Where do I start? I’m very much a family person. Family will always come first. This movie really expressed the importance of family. I honestly didn’t want to see this movie. But I figured I’d give it a try. And I’m FOREVER glad I did. It made me think about my family members who have passed and gone on before me. Made me think of family members who I grew up loving and was close to who have passed away. Honestly just thinking about this movie right NOW is making me get choked up. I CAN’T wait for the day I get to be reunited with my ancestors. movie10.jpg

#1 “The Greatest Showman”

So as 2017 was coming to a end, I was SO excited for what 2018 was going to bring. I was finally able to put some things in my life in the PAST and I was actually going into a NEW year really truly happy. On New Year’s day I ended up going to see this movie (Because Jumanji was sold out) with my Dad. Now I’m going to get really raw here. Before the movie started, I said a prayer in my mind that this movie would help me with going into 2018. That I would be inspired by this movie, and that if there was something I NEEDED to learn from this movie that I would feel it in my heart. I felt like this WHOLE movie was a answered prayer. However when the song “This Is Me” played, I knew my Heavenly Father REALLY answered my prayer. I KNEW this movie was going to play a huge role in my life. And sure enough it has. Its not ironic that I saw this movie on NEW  YEAR’S DAY. I truly feel like it was all meant to be. In fact the moment I walked out of the theater, I downloaded the soundtrack on my Spotify. I ended up seeing this movie 3 times in theater. I’ve NEVER done that before but I’m so glad I did. I promise I’m not just on the bandwagon with this movie. Just like how “Meet The Robinsons” changed my life, this movie has now done the same. It has also showed me how far I’ve come. To the point of where I didn’t feel like I belonged and having such a hard time moving forward. To where I am NOW. To where I’m happy and FINALLY chasing my dreams.movie9

Alright guys, Its time for my VERY first fitness update…..

This life style change is really hard. For some reason I sorta thought it would be easier but I quickly realized this will take some time haha. Something I keep telling myself is that …..

“A little progress each day adds up to big results”

Over this past week, I went and signed up at the gym. img-7705.jpgOn Tuesday April 10th I’ll actually go and get a health assessment done with Youfit. That is where I’ll go in and get weighed, measured, and be able to share with a trainer my fitness goals. They will then give me workout routines that would work for me and my specific goals I want to reach. FYI when you go in and sign up with Youfit, they offer this HOUR free assessment. I highly recommend you take advantage of this because they really give you a clean slate to start from. Ill share more info in my next update with what I learn from my assessment. Wish me luck!!!

Also EVERYBODY knows how much I love drinking coke. However today marks 6 days free of ALL SODA!!! I am so proud of myself for making it this far without any soda. I know there will be days I will eventually drink “Ginger Ale” due to my stomach problems because that helps me a lot with my nausea but other than that I won’t be drinking soda like I was. I have had a little bit of a headache the past couple days but nothing crazy. And oh I have felt SO fatigue!! I think that is because my body is trying to adapt to this new healthy change.

I have been drinking at least 2 liters of  water a day! I’ve been getting the Fiji water. I made a goal for myself to finish at least one of these bottles before I leave work everyday which is normally around 4:30/5. Whenever I do finish one, I instantly refill it and then I will push myself to finish THAT bottle before I go to bed. Over the days of doing this, It has become easier to finish my first bottle way before its time to leave. I remember on the first day telling my coworker I feel like I’m going to explode because of how much IMG-7703water I’ve been drinking. He said my body would get use to it. I didn’t believe him. But hey guess what?! Like day three it became easier. He was right!

On days I was really wanting something to quench my thirst, I picked up this sparkling ICE water. I’m going to be honest with you. I’ve barely had ONE and it is WAY too sweet for me, and also the carbonation is too much. So really its hard for me to finish, but its a GREAT go-to if you want something to quench that thirst!

Years ago, I cut chicken from my diet to see if it would help my digestion pracs-0009.jpgoblems. It did and I noticed a ton of differences. I lasted about a month because lets face it, Who could stay away from Chick-Fil-A? I was currently only eating Chicken and Fish because over 10 years ago I had cut red meat and all other meats out of my diet because my stomach could simply NOT digest it. I’ve always been a fan of sea food, but to take chicken away just seemed to be too much. However back in January of 2018, I decided to take chicken away again and see if I would of receive the same results. And I DID! So I haven’t had chicken since January and I only miss it because of Chick-Fil-A haha. So with that I wanted to find something I could take in my lunches that would be healthier. I can’t eat a lot of food at once because of my Gastroparesis so I needed to find something small and quick to grab because I like my food convenient hahaha!  One day when I was shopping at Publix, I came across these tuna packs. Now I’ve never been a fan of tuna, but the “Sun Dried Tomato & Basil” caught my eye. So I grabbed one and was prepared to hate it. NOPE, I was quickly addicted. So I went back and grabbed the other 2 flavors and quickly fell in love. I know people say I wouldn’t get enough protein because I’m not eating chicken, But with eating these tuna packs I’m getting protein from other resources like beans. So go and find these, I PROMISE you wont be disappointed!

So I did go out and get a few things for home incase I couldn’t make it to the gym one day. I was able to find the Yoga Mat and Dumbbells at my local Walmart and they weren’t expensive at all. I found the Jump Rope at Target. ( Gotta love Target!) These things are so simple to get, inexpensive and great to use at home to work out if you are unable to make it to the gym. You can look up fitness videos on YouTube, magazines, and even buy some on DVD if you can. The gym isn’t always for everyone. For me I feel like iimg-7700.jpgt makes me feel more accountable and when I am there, there is NO excuses to why I cant work out. Sometimes at home I can get distracted and not do a work out. But at the gym there is no reason why I can’t. It is also nice to be able to go with somebody who can push you when you want to quit. I’m lucky enough to be able to go with my Brother In Law. Over this past week, I only went to the gym once. Ill be honest. But when I went my Brother In Law was so patient with me as we worked out and he showed me how to do certain things on the machines. He also pushed me and at times when I didn’t think I could do it, he encouraged me and well didn’t let me give him ANY excuses. We got the job done, and I’m super excited to go back tomorrow! Even though I only went once this past week, I did go on a couple walks in my neighborhood. And my Cousin and I are doing a 21 day planking challenge! Ill post details about that on my FB page!

I also went out and bought new work out clothes. Many things were not fitting right and also I get more excited to work out with getting a new outfit! You can go anywhere for decent priced work out clothes but I went to Target and picked up these items. I needed new work out pants and because I am so short and I do have some curves these fit perfectly! Also while looking in the mirror, I didn’t feel self-conscious. I felt comfortable and ready to get out there. That is so important when you are getting clothes to work out in. Get whatever makes you feel good!

Things I’ve learned this week:

  • If getting a new outfit inspires you to get out there and exercise, Spend that extra money and go get one!
  • If you are a grazer like me, (someone who always snacks) Make sure you have plenty of healthy snack options. Like I mentioned before, I like my food convenient. That is just how my brain works. So I wanted to be able to just quickly grab my snack.  I have had to pay extra for the convenience, but it works for ME if that makes sense. So if you can, spend extra if that works for YOU. Your body will thank you for that. ( I will also be making a separate post on healthy snacks)
  • Create a “Work out Playlist” I personally have Spotify. All of my music is divided into categorizes or moods. (Yes I’m weird, but I LOVE my music). So make a Work out play list to get you pumped when working out. Its so easy to just click on that playlist and get working out!
  • Have a good support system. I have my family behind me and a couple friends who continue to encourage me. Also my co-worker! He will make comments at work when he sees me eating my healthy snacks or refiling my water to “keep it up”!
  •  Also the BIGGEST thing I’ve learned this week, is that this will take time. You wont see a difference over night. But that is ok, just keep going and most importantly to keep your head UP. As I said before….

“A little progress each day adds up to big results”

I like to MOVE it MOVE it!!

Alright everybody………. Are you ready for the BIG announcement?!  *Drum roll please*

I am starting a new Journey into FITNESS and I’ll be taking you with me EVERY step of the way!!!! A friend of mine actually inspired me to get my butt back into shape! Back in the day, I use to go to the gym regularly and I use to be a runner.  I LOVED the shape I was in then, and I had so much self confidence. Of course life got into the way. I was diagnosed with Depression which put me into a funk and then I had my back injury which really set me back.  As other things started to get in my way (which I would let) and my overall health wasn’t stable due to my stomach,  I got out of my routine of going to the gym and working out regularly. Through out the years I would join the gym and only go maybe a few months and stop. Well enough is enough already.

I knew it was time to make a change, when I started not feeling comfortable in my own skin and would just DREAD looking in the mirror. Clothes started not fitting like they use to, and I was buying so many clothes because nothing was fitting anymore. There would be times when I would go try on clothes that I would just get emotional because I wasn’t happy. Recently I went on a girl’s weekend get-away, and that really put into perspective how UNHAPPY I’ve been in my own skin, where I actually said “forget it” and didn’t buy a swimsuit, or anything because I just wasn’t happy. Bottom line, I’m just READY to be comfortable again in my skin and have confidence.

I’ll be honest with everyone. When I got the idea to go on this fitness journey I confided in a couple of people and what they thought and if it would be a good idea to include it in with my blog and they liked the idea. I need something to help keep me accountable for doing this and what better way then to add this to my blog!! I am the type of person who needs other people’s thoughts and opinions before I go and do something big. One thing I really struggle with is my confidence. So I have to make sure I have a support group behind me before I make a decision.  I’m going to be real with everyone too. I’m going to share when I slip up and eat that yummy chocolate cake or if I miss a week of working out! I’m going to share my struggles doing this because lets face it, I’m human and I will make mistakes. This isn’t going to be an easy journey. There will be days where I want to quit because I hurt and there is going to be days when I need that extra motivation. BUT there will also be GOOD days where I’ll be able to say without a doubt that I got this!

When I say that I am going to be taking you EVERY step of the way, I mean it!

I will be sharing:

  • My progress- LITERALLY!
  • Recipes & snacks that are yummy and healthy!
  • Exercises that you can do at the gym or even home!
  • Fitness items that I find useful!
  • ETC…

I am really excited to be going on this journey. I am already so thankful for the few people who have known about this and have encouraged me to DO this and that have told me I am capable of doing it. You know who you are, so THANK YOU!

With adding this to my blog, My schedule will be the same. However SUNDAY’S post will be about my fitness and WEDNESDAY’S post will be on certain topics. Any questions just ask! 😉

SO EVERYONE, this journey starts TOMORROW.  Come along with me. IT WILL BE FUN!!

Do I? Or don’t I?

ChoicesHave you ever needed to make a choice that could effect your WHOLE life? That this choice could change your relationship with another person, that this choice could change your everyday life whether it be with your job or home? The thing is, every choice YOU make changes your entire life. From the moment we were born, we begin learning new things. We learn good things and bad things. Its up to us to make a choice whether we will choose the right or the bad. BUT either one we choose, it WILL effect our entire life. We just may not see it right away.

It is possible to make a bad choice. We all have. But at the end it actually can help us learn and to grow. We are in charge of US, no one else is. So it is only up to US to make our own choices.

Our life is all made up of choices. The different choices you make can will effect you, your friends, and your family. Anyone. From experiences I’ve dealt with in my life and having to make certain choices and decisions made me stronger. But some also made my weaker. However, after everything was ALL said and DONE, I was only stronger. If that makes sense. Haha. It was a very hard time in my life (Which will be another post at another time!) I ultimately needed to choose what was best for ME no matter how scary it was or the consequences I could possibly face. I had to choose if I should leave a certain relationship at the time. I had to choose to leave my fears and troubles behind and embark on a new journey to get ME back. It was very scary, it was life changing but it is a choice I am so glad I made. In my case leaving a abusive relationship was a good choice and at times I wondered if I was truly strong enough to get through this but even at times when we have to make good choices and it can sometimes can complicate life, it will eventually make life SO much better. Making good choices will make life easier or start the path to making life easier.

All I can say is when it comes time to make a decision or a choice, really think about it. Pray about it. If you know in your heart and mind that something is the RIGHT decision, follow it. Always follow your gut. If it takes time to think about what to do, that is ok too.

Choices that you make, can either make or break you. In no way, shape or form is anyone perfect. We will all make mistakes, but really our choices add so much story to our lives.

Life Is A Roller Coaster…

Life. Many things can happen in it. Life can have many meanings. Some good, some bad. But life is WONDERFUL no matter what. Life gives you struggles and obstacles. Life will build you up and life will tear you down. But no matter what, life will reward you in the end. Life will also reward you along the way as well, but we have to open our eyes and not harden our hearts to see those rewards. IT can award you in ways that you don’t see right away or in ways you could never imagine and believe me, it will catch you off guard. Friends will come along that mean the world to you and give you chances that you may never get again. Life is god. Life is a challenge but you never do it alone. You may feel like everything is ending right at your fingertips and that you have no grip left. But that is when you just need to hold a little tighter and have faith. Everything will be ok. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride of life. You see, its like a rollercoaster. It has ups and downs, twists and turns and sometimes really big drops but it always stops. You just have to hold on for the ride. Once it’s stopped it’s stopped. We are not able to go for that ride again. No matter how crazy or difficult it gets, we only have ONE ride. ONE way ticket. We must cherish it and hang on while we can.

Sadly there will be times when people, experiences, things come into our life and screws everything up. It gives you too much to handle and at times you think to yourself “What did I do to deserve this” and/or “I cant do this anymore, I don’t have enough strength”.

You actually may never understand why those things happen but in the end it makes you better. It makes you stronger, wiser. It makes you a very strong person. Life will give you scars, but that’s when you wear them proudly and show that you showed up to these experiences and came out stronger. However sometimes people jump off the ride, before it stops. They never really give it a chance to change and others around them feel like they are to blame.  All we can do is try to help people on this ride. Be there for them when things get tough. Show them it is ok to go through these difficult times and that there are ways to get through it. And when all they want to do is let go, just help them hold on tighter. Life is hard in general. It teaches so much yet hurts also. Life will never be perfect. Think about this though….

How much fun would life be if it was all perfect? You wouldn’t learn all you could. You wouldn’t go as strong as you could. You wouldn’t be a better person. Everything would just be going the way everyone would want. Boring I’d say. Just hang on for the ride.
